Fataga
Is one of the most typical and beautiful villages, for those who want to experience the Canarian mountains! Only 25 minutes by car from Maspalomas. Here you drive up a winding and fantastic road with a view of the majestic mountains and past the palm oasis of Arteara where you have the opportunity to ride camels.

We recommend a walk in the narrow streets among small white houses and have lunch at the restaurant “El Albaricoque“. Here you can sit on the terrace with a view of the mountains and enjoy the fresh air. If you love dessert, order the famous chocolate mousse, it will surprise you 🙂

After Fataga, you can continue up to Roque Nublo, a volcanic rock about 80m high, in the middle of the island. If the sky is clear, you can see the neighboring island of Tenerife.

If you visit Roque Nublo, you can also visit Pico de las Nieves, the famous viewpoint on the highest peak of Gran Canaria. Here you can see the wonderful sunset or the “sea of clouds” that forms depending on the weather.

Teror is on the north side of the island, one or two hours’ drive from Arguineguin, depending on whether you drive the highway or over the mountains. Go here on a Sunday and experience the special Market where they sell products made in Gran Canaria.
